When a hearing is covered by an attorney, but they want us to remove their appearance. (Delete their Appearance)

It is our policy, and our clients', that once an attorney agrees to accept a hearing, that attorney is obligated to appear and take the appropriate actions at that particular hearing.
Once you have committed to appear for a hearing, we at Docketly are counting on you to be there. But most importantly, the client is counting on you to be there to represent them.
On very rare occasions, situations might arise that prevent you from being there and now you are forced to delete your appearance. The extenuating circumstances in which we will delete your appearance include: a family emergency, you are seriously ill, or there was a conflict of interest, which did not come up in your initial conflict search. Depending on the amount of time before the hearing, you'll want to take certain steps to handle the situation professionally.

If it's more than 24 hours before the hearing, get logged in to the Docketly site and submit a ticket for the hearing to delete your appearance with an explanation as to why you cannot cover. You can also head over to the hearing, and select ' delete appearance' from the drop down which will auto generate a deletion request ticket.

If it's less than 24 hours before the hearing or, even worse, the morning of the hearing, get logged in, submit a ticket for the hearing explaining the situation, and contact a staff member of Docketly (either call or chat one of us directly).

The worst thing you can do is just not show up without contacting us or the client. This situation isn't good of any of us and makes you look bad, Docketly look bad, and the client look bad. So, avoid this situation at all costs. A failure to appear without advanced notification results in immediate suspension from Docketly and no one wants that.

It is the individual attorney's responsibility to ensure they have the relevant experience to competently represent the interests of a particular party, that his/her schedule is free and that there is no conflict between the attorney and the litigating parties. If you need to withdraw your appearance, please contact Docketly, via the above process, and do not contact the client you were to represent.

Simply login to your account, click on the black button "Appearances" and find the correct hearing to create a support ticket.

Please note that if you exceed 5% deleted appearances (5% of your total covered hearings), you will be subject to possible suspension.
