Understanding Docketly's Tier system.

Our three-tier system helps us match attorneys to hearings they will be most successful in covering, based on experience.

To better put our tiers into perspective: Low-risk matters, such as basic motion hearings, are a Tier 1. Matters that may be contested, such as most types of judgment hearings, are a Tier 2. High risk matters, such as trials or sales, are a Tier 3.

Our Performance Team reviews each application for new attorneys and places them in the appropriate tier based on years of practice, level of courtroom experience and other factors. As an attorney covers more hearings with Docketly, they can move to higher tiers. If an attorney exhibits poor performance, they can be moved to a lower tier.

When attorneys are not Tiered appropriately for a hearing they try to Cover, the system will Generate a Ticket with Questions Specific to the Hearing's Category 1 Service Type. The Performance Team then checks the attorney's answers and adjusts the Tier appropriately based on those answers. (Tickets will only be generated for attorneys with more than 1 appearance).

Our more seasoned attorneys may notice they are not at the tier they feel most comfortable with. A tier can be reviewed at any point to make sure it is in line with our requirements and the attorney's comfort level.

How do you know if your tier is incorrect?

If you are trying to cover a hearing and see a message stating "You are not set up to cover this type of hearing" this means you do not currently have a high enough tier for the service type of this particular hearing. Please carefully review the hearing instructions and hearing type to verify that this is something you're comfortable with covering.

A ticket is automatically generated for you when you receive that error message. As we currently have 8 different types of hearings that require specific tiers, it will be one of the below listed sets of questions.
