A W-9 form is required when you work as an independent contractor for a company and they pay you. If you earn more than $600 in one year with one company, they will report this to the IRS and the information you provide on the W-9 allows them to do so. The 1099 form is used to report this income.

1099s are distributed by January 31st of a calendar year for the prior calendar year.

Forms can be distributed electronically to you if you have given consent. Consent can be given at https://docketly.com/attorney/tax/consent

If you have not given consent for electronic delivery, they are mailed to your address on file given on the W-9 form.

To submit a W-9, visit https://docketly.com/attorney/tax

You can also view your existing tax forms submitted by pressing the green Tax button on your home page, lower left.

Forms will be archived at https://docketly.com/attorney/tax/form

**Note: 2022 forms are not archived on the Docketly website at this time. Should you have any questions please file a support ticket for Accounting and we will get back to you shortly.
